Pit stop in Miami !
On my way home from St-John’s, I had an overnight layover in Miami, Florida.
After checking in to my hotel, I started thinking about photo possibilities! The hotel was located almost directly under the departure path for runway 08R which was being used for some flights. I did not have a car and walking wasn’t really an option so I stayed in my room, watching the tracking apps in case an interesting aircraft could be photographed from my location. I thought about taking an Uber to the “El Dorado” spot to catch some arrivals, but I didn’t really think spending the afternoon out in the Miami heat without an air-conditioned car to retreat into was a good idea.
Despite the angle, palm trees and problematic sun location, I did manage to capture my first images of 4 aircraft that were of interest to me. Noteworthy is finally having shot the Sky Bus DC-8, which I had inexplicably missed in SXM last year.
