Testing a giant !
On February 11th, Curaçao experienced a historic aviation event: The arrival of Boeing’s 777-9 test airliner!
Taking the much-delayed program on the road, Boeing chose our island as a base to conduct flight testing in a hot and humid environment for the next few weeks.
The test aircraft, registered N779XX, departed from King County International Airport/Boeing Field (BFI) for the 7 hours and 25 minutes flight, landing just after sunset. Local aviation enthusiast were out in full force for the big moment, with people massed at every possible vantage point around the airport.
