Turkish Airlines Boeing 787-9 TC-LLC Diverts to Curaçao After Caracas Thunderstorms

The bad weather in Caracas was good news for spotters in Curacao.

Turkish Airlines Boeing 787-9 registered as TC-LLC, flying from Havana to Caracas, encountered thunderstorms near the Venezuelan capital and had to divert to our sunny island. The Dreamliner was on the ground at Hato international airport for a few hours to take on fuel and wait out the weather. The aircraft was later able to continue to its destination and onward to Istanbul. Turkish airlines has no scheduled passenger service to Curacao, and its Boeing 777 freighters have long ceased using the island as a fuel stop.
