A serious case of the JetBlues…
Lockdown 2.0 continues here in Curacao!
Plane spotting has come to a grinding halt, coincidentally in the same months as last year: March and April.
There was a brief period when I could come and go normally, allowing me to capture some of the aircraft that visit our island. Saturdays offered the possibility of something really cool: A JetBlue Airways special livery!
Unfortunately, I was not able to photograph the recent “Vets in Blue” special due to the lockdown, and a visit by the “FDNY” livery fell victim to a last-minute equipment change before leaving JFK airport.
This post’s photographs are the only ones I was able to shoot here so far, giving me a serious case of the “JetBlues”. These liveries are named (from left to right): “I Love Blue York”, “Lucky Blue”, “Bluemanity”, and “Bluericua”.
JetBlue Airways’ service to Curacao is currently on a scheduled three-week break, which is fine with me as I am only allowed to drive my car on my “Plachi di Dia” (“licence plate of the day” in the local language, Papiamento). For me, that is Mondays and Thursdays, and only to buy groceries or other essentials.
So, I stay home, polish my camera gear, and hope that May will bring a relaxation of the rules.
What’s your favourite special livery? Are you currently chasing one?
