Arajet Boeing 737-8 HI1101 in Dominican Republic Flag Special Livery at Curaçao
Arajet Boeing 737-8 HI1101, wearing the airline's Dominican Republic flag special livery, made its first visit to Curaçao on January 15th 2025, arriving from Las Américas International Airport (SDQ/MDSD) in Santo Domingo.
HI1101 holds a milestone place in Arajet's history as the airline's 10th Boeing 737-8, delivered in June 2023. At delivery, CEO and founder Victor Pacheco Méndez described the aircraft as "unique, not only because it has a special Dominican ribbon painted on the fuselage, but because it will increase the number of connections we make with the continent." The distinctive flag livery, featuring the blue, red and white of the Dominican national flag running as a ribbon along the fuselage makes HI1101 one of the most visually striking aircraft in Arajet's all-737 MAX fleet.
Arajet was founded in 2014 as Dominican Wings before rebranding in 2021, commencing operations in September 2022 as the first low-fare airline in the Caribbean region, based at Las Américas Airport in Santo Domingo. The airline operates an all-Boeing 737 MAX fleet serving 26 destinations across North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, positioning the Dominican Republic as a regional aviation hub. Curaçao is a natural fit for the network given the strong ties between the two islands and the significant Dominican community on the island.
