Chasing Color in the Rain: A Day at Brussels Airport
Brussels Airlines “Tintin Comics” A320 OO-SNB lands in heavy rain.
Following a successful visit to Kleine-Brogel airbase, I had to decide how best to spend Friday, March 13th. The weather forecast was far from ideal, making the prospect of standing out in an open field near Florennes airbase less appealing. Having already spent two days at Kleine-Brogel, a return visit didn’t seem particularly worthwhile either.
Instead, I opted for Brussels Airport. It offered the advantage of staying close to the car and out of the rain while still providing good photographic opportunities. It was also conveniently located along my planned route back to Amsterdam, where I intended to end the day.
I had visited the airport back in 2022 and remembered it as a reliable location for catching special liveries, which made the decision even easier.
On arrival, however, the weather proved worse than expected. Despite the conditions, I gave it a try and was rewarded with several interesting airliners throughout the session.
As the rain intensified later in the day, I eventually decided to call it and continue the drive, not long after capturing the “Home of the Atomium” Airbus in the fading conditions.
