Germany trip: Köln-Bonn (Part 2)
Having paid a steep price for parking at Köln-Bonn airport (EDDK), we made sure to shoot commercial jets, not just the Luftwaffe.
Airlines Lufthansa and Eurowings dominate traffic at EDDK, but many other operators fly to and from this airport. We were pleasantly surprised by the significant number of spotters we saw at the visitor’s terrace throughout our day there.
While it was fantastic to capture several UPS Boeing 747 freighters, our highlight was the FlyOne Armenia Airbus A320-214 flying in from Yerevan, Armenia (UDYZ). Im not sure of the significance of that flight, but it drew a large number of photographers to EDDK at 7pm!
This was our last photo stop. We drove 4459 kilometres and visited 7 airfields, it was time to head home.
