Just “sniffing” around!
Curaçao received a rare and unusual visitor this weekend; a United States Air Force WC-135R Constant Phoenix!
The aircraft, serial 64-1831 from the 45th Reconnaissance squadron at Offutt AFB in Nebraska, was preceded last week by two C-17As carrying personnel and equipment. Given that the jet’s mission is to sample the upper atmosphere for evidence of nuclear detonations, I can’t even begin to speculate as to the reason why it is here on the island.
This is certainly the spotting highlight of the year so far!
