They’re a little special! (Part 3)
Today, I bring you the third, and final, part of my series on airline special liveries.
Rather than bore you with describing the details of each aircraft, I will let the images speak for themselves. But I would like to share something with you about the images in all 3 parts of this series.
These were taken over the course of several years, using a variety of cameras and lenses. Techniques and equipment changed as I gradually got better. Some of the images cannot be described as “great” and were beyond rescuing. It is what it is, i did not have a clue what i was doing. As time went by, my technique got better, I learned considerably more about editing and practiced quite a bit more. For some images, I was able to apply new post-processing skills to bring out a better photograph. I have share both kinds of images here because none of us start out as award-winning photographers.
I can also admit that I have lost the photographs, both raw & processed, of several special liveries. I did not pay enough attention to storage and cataloging. Gone are my shots of the ANA “R2-D2” 787, Air China “Smiling China” 777, and United Airlines “Eco Skies” 737. Storage of your images is not the most exciting subject for a photographer, but it turns out to be an essential one.
I still have so much to learn, but its crazy how things have improved since those first disappointing images i took with my first DSLR.
I still own it, by the way (Canon EOS Rebel Xsi). Still works too!
