Força Aérea Brasileira Embraer KC-390 Millennium Serial 2858 First Visit to Curaçao
An Embraer KC-390 Millennium made the type’s first visit to Curaçao on July 15th, 2026 operated by the Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB).
FAB Embraer KC-390 serial 2858 departed Boa Vista Air Force Base (BVB/SBBV) in Roraima State, Brazil using the callsign “BRS 633” and landed in Curaçao just after 10am. The Brazilian-built jet departed the island following refuelling just after Noon, heading for Santiago de Cuba (SCU/MUCU).
I had noticed the aircraft flying over Venezuela earlier during the morning, but had assumed it was heading to Caracas, as had been the case for the last FAB KC-390s since relief operations had begun in Venezuela. I was later surprised when FlightRadar24 showed the aircraft South-East of Bonaire at 15000 feet and descending.
There was less than 20 minutes until arrival, meaning another mad scramble to the airport was needed. With less-than-ideal light conditions, along with severe heat haze, I chose to photograph the jet on short final for runway 11. I would later have enough warning to return to photograph the departure for Cuba, but by then the heat haze had worsened.
Following the stop in Cuba, the Embraer flew to Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ/MKJS)
