Rare Visitor: Flair Airlines Boeing 737-8 C-FLEJ Charter Visit to Curaçao from JFK
Canadian ultra low cost carrier Flair Airlines made a rare Caribbean appearance on April 21st 2024, with Boeing 737-8 C-FLEJ arriving at Curaçao from New York JFK (JFK/KJFK) before continuing to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ/CYYZ), a first visit to the island for the Edmonton-based airline.
Founded in 2005 as Flair Air and rebranded as Flair Airlines in 2017, the Edmonton, Alberta-based carrier has positioned itself as Canada's leading independent value carrier, operating an all-Boeing 737 MAX fleet across 34 destinations in Canada, the United States and Mexico. With a fleet of 20 aircraft and approximately 1,250 employees, Flair operates primarily on domestic Canadian leisure routes with some cross-border leisure services, making a Caribbean charter an unusual departure from its typical network and a genuinely unexpected visitor at Curaçao.
C-FLEJ is a Boeing 737-8 MAX with manufacturer's serial number 7694, normally found on Flair's domestic Canadian network. Its appearance at Curaçao on an apparent charter series via New York and Toronto remains the only documented Flair Airlines visit to the island to date.
