Rare Visitor: Royal Netherlands Air Force MQ-9 Reaper Serial M-003 Delivered to Curaçao for Operator Training

The Royal Netherlands Air Force took delivery of its first MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicles directly at Curaçao's Hato International Airport, making the island an early base of operations for the type as crews from 306 Squadron began their initial familiarisation and operator training program on the new platform.

The MQ-9 Reaper represents a significant capability addition for the RNLAF, providing long endurance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capability across the Dutch Caribbean region. Serial M-003 was among the first examples delivered, photographed here during the early stages of what would become a sustained operational presence on the island. Following the completion of the operator training program, 306 Squadron's Reaper operations will eventually transition to Leeuwarden Air Base in the Netherlands, establishing the type as a permanent fixture in the RNLAF's reconnaissance fleet.
