The Azul lottery!

Azul having increased the frequency of its flight to Curaçao, I had hoped that it would also increase the number of their special liveries I would be able to photograph. I was wrong.

The carrier’s first two flight from Belo Horizonte had been operated by special livery-adorned Airbuses. This was a wonderful start, since the company seems to have so many of them. Frustratingly, what followed were the same 3-4 standard livery aircraft, flight after flight. On a few occasions, aircraft that FR24 showed as “specials” had been re-painted so no luck there.

I had missed the arrival of PR-YRC as it had landed here several hours late. While Fr24 showed it had the “+MILIONÁRIA Lotteries CAIXA” decals, there was some debate amongst local spotters as to the whether the decals were still on the aircraft. I decided to take an early morning drive to the airport in order to see for myself. The jet was parked at a gate that I could see from the parking lot so I was able to confirm it was indeed a”special” and another spotting opportunity had come my way. Azul does not typically keep these decals on for very long, so it was essentially now or never.
