More FIFA World Cup 2026 aviation action !

Avianca sent its Airbus A320 registered N426AV to Curacao for its service from Colombia’s capital, Bogota on June 11. The airliner sports special 2026 World Cup markings along the rear of the fuselage and vertical stabilizer.

Not being aware that Avianca has two A320s with special World Cup markings (the other being N906AV, which I have alerts for in FR24), I did not photograph the aircraft’s arrival.

The markings read “Aerolinea Oficial de la Selección Colombia Mundialista” which translates to “Official Airlines of the Colombian National World Cup Team” in English. The use of 19 windows for form a long chant of “GOAL” is a very nice touch.

Manufacturer Serial Number (MSN) 4026, N426AV was built by Airbus at its facility in Toulouse, France and delivered to Avianca in September 2009.
