LATAM Airbus A320 CC-BFL Arrives in Curaçao Carrying Avión Solidario Decal
A welcome South American visitor arrived at Curaçao International Airport (CUR/TNCC) on February 20th when LATAM Airlines Airbus A320-214, registered CC-BFL, touched down from Lima, Peru.
While the A320 is a familiar type across the region, this particular aircraft carries something that immediately catches the eye. On the forward fuselage, CC-BFL displays LATAM’s “Avión Solidario” decal, promoting the airline’s long-running solidarity initiative.
For spotters, it is always interesting when a routine fleet aircraft carries special markings, even subtle ones. The Avión Solidario program represents LATAM’s corporate social responsibility initiative, through which the airline provides free air transport for patients requiring medical treatment, supports the transfer of organs for transplant, and assists with humanitarian logistics across South America. The program has also played an important role during natural disasters and emergency situations in the region.
Interestingly, this was not the first time I have photographed a LATAM aircraft carrying the Avión Solidario marking. During a 2022 visit to Amsterdam Schiphol, I captured a LATAM Cargo Boeing 767-316F(ER), N534LA, wearing the same decal. That earlier sighting, featured in “They Just Keep Coming Here in Amsterdam”, demonstrated how the initiative appears across both passenger and cargo operations.
The Avión Solidario branding is applied to selected aircraft within the fleet to highlight the program’s mission, making aircraft like CC-BFL particularly noteworthy when they appear outside their more typical operating areas.
Although the Lima to Curaçao service was a routine international rotation for LATAM, the presence of CC-BFL and its Avión Solidario decal added a meaningful detail to the afternoon’s movements at TNCC. It served as a reminder that beyond scheduled passenger operations, aircraft like this one also play a role in supporting humanitarian and medical transport initiatives across the region.
This visit adds to previous LATAM coverage on the site, including LATAM Double Take and Chile Special, further documenting the carrier’s diverse operations and aircraft activity into Curaçao.
