Sunrise X
On January 23rd, I was finally able to scratch a Sunrise Airways Airbus A320 off my list, following several missed opportunities.
In October 2025, Global X announced it had entered an agreement with Haiti’s Sunrise Airways. The multi-year wet-lease deal covers the provision of two dedicated 179-seat Airbus A320 airliners. N628VA carries a somewhat hybrid livery while the second aircraft, N291GX, is almost entirely in Sunrise colours.
Global X has been a regular visitor to Curaçao for some time now, operating flights to-and-from MIA/KMIA as part of an agreement with Venezuela’s Laser Airlines. Global X has also operated other special flights to our island over the last few years, both for passengers and cargo.
Sunrise Airways had also appeared in Curaçao in the recent past, most notably operating a flight on behalf of Sint-Maarten’s Winair with an Embraer ERJ-145.
