Winair ATR 42 PJ-WIW and PJ-WIY Spotted at Curaçao in 65th Anniversary Special Livery
Sint-Maarten based airline Winair celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2026. Highlighting the milestone, the airline is introducing special branding on part of its fleet. The first aircraft, ATR 42-550 registered PJ-WIW, was officially unveiled when it arrived at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM/TNCM) on July 10th 2026. According to the company's press release, the special branding will be applied to more aircraft in the fleet over the coming months.
Winair's fleet is currently composed of four ATR 42-500s and five De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otters. The airline previously operated the Dornier Do-28, Piper PA-23 Apache, Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander, Fokker F27, Beech Twin Bonanza and NAMC YS-11.

Built in Toulouse, PJ-WIW was delivered new to Ecuadorian airline TAME in November 2011 with the registration HC-CMB, where it operated until withdrawn from use in March 2020. The aircraft remained stored at Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO/SEQM) until sold to Jetstream Aviation Capital in December 2022, registered N849AV, and moved to Medellín, Colombia (MDE/SKRG) in April 2023. Winair acquired the twin-turboprop in October 2023.

A second Winair aircraft, PJ-WIY, has also received the 65th anniversary branding. First delivered to Air Madagascar in September 2006 as 5R-MJG, the aircraft transferred to Colombia in September 2016, flying for Easyfly (later rebranded as Clic) with the registration HK-5199. Withdrawn from service in April 2025, the ATR remained in storage at Bogotá El Dorado International Airport (BOG/SKBO) until transferred to Winair in August 2025.
